People always wonder why parents decide to homeschool their kiddos! So many "public school moms" who stay at home anyway say things like, "If I had my kids 24/7 I would shoot myself", or "I have to have ME time", or "I have so much to do during the day, I would never get it done if my kids were home." I have never understood this logic! When my son was in public school, I missed him, a lot! I feel like, why do so many parents love getting rid of their kids? Even when they come home they want them to go "play in the street."
Why do I homeschool? There are many reasons. Watch the news for one...so many kids are getting killed at school, or killing themselves because of the pressures of schools or bullies at school. My son was bullied, in almost every form possible, by not only kids but teachers! He was failing...strike that...they were failing him! He had learning needs that they could not... Strike that... Would not, accommodate!
Kids learn by example. If I send my son to public school do I want him coming home acting like a street kid with no manners? No! Do I want him to feel like a failure, cause that's what the teachers treat him like all day? No! I want him to feel worthy, happy, be polite, feel loved and wanted! No place like home can make you all of these things!
My son is now learning, not being bullied, is loved and cared for, is safe and most of all ALIVE!! Can't say that for many kids these days!
What more could I ask for...right?
